Sunninghill Prep School announces new partnership with Inspired Learning Group

Sunninghill Prep School announces a new partnership today with leading education provider, Inspired Learning Group (ILG), to continue providing an exceptional education for pupils aged from 2 years 9 months to 13.

Through this partnership, Sunninghill Prep School will join the ILG family and will benefit from significant investment in enhancing the school’s facilities and professional development opportunities and build on its existing high standards of teaching and learning.

Since 1939 Sunninghill Prep School has served Dorchester town centre and the wider community.  Education at Sunninghill is child centred – small class sizes, personalised learning, excellent facilities and strong pastoral care all help to achieve the goal of happy hard-working children. Academic, sporting, musical and artistic endeavours are all equally valued.

The governors decided to seek a long term, sustainable solution to enable Sunninghill Prep School to continue with its development plans to enhance the education provision and facilities at the school. After careful consideration and a thorough process, ILG was chosen as the ideal partner for the school, due to its shared vision, values and strong track record in providing a world-class education.

Inspired Learning Group is comprised of 16 independent schools and 10 nurseries, supporting over 2,800 pupils within the UK with a strong team of experienced consultants including Deputy Chair of their Advisory Board, Vernon Hales, former Headmaster of Aldwickbury School in Hertfordshire, and including Neil Roskilly, previous Chief Executive of the Independent Schools Association.

Inspired Learning Group will be working closely with Headmaster, Mr David Newberry, and his team to support them in delivering their vision to offer Sunninghill Prep pupils the best possible learning experience and outcomes.

Commenting on the partnership, Mr Newberry said:

“Anyone who joins Sunninghill very quickly becomes part of a family that is warm and inclusive. We are a community full of compassion, creativity, commitment and courage which you will see in abundance all around the school. Our staff are committed to these values and weave them through our very strong academic programme and all of our extra-curricular activities too.

ILG was a clear choice for us because they share these values and will support us in developing this further, giving even greater opportunities for our children so that they get the best possible outcomes from their school life at Sunninghill.  I am very excited about the future for all our children; we have already had an excellent inspection report this year and now, with the support of ILG, I really feel the sky is the limit for our children.

All of our decisions have been made with the best interests of our school community in mind, and I am excited that we are about to embark on this new chapter as part of the ILG family.”

Amit Mehta, CEO of Inspired Learning Group, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Sunninghill Prep School into the Inspired Learning Group family and very much look forward to supporting the school in providing a stimulating and highly nurturing education that enables every pupil to thrive in an ever-changing global environment.

Through being part of the ILG family, Sunninghill Prep School will benefit from the sharing of best practice and the latest teaching techniques to help deliver the best possible teaching and learning for its pupils. Sunninghill Prep School is a wonderful addition to our family of schools, and we look forward to working closely with David Newberry and his dedicated team as the school enters an incredibly exciting new chapter.”

Sunninghill Prep School will officially become part of ILG on 1st December 2023.
